A web infographic raising awareness on the lack of female representation within clinical research participants.
To start my research, I began by asking three questions:
I then compiled evidence by asking ChatGPT for reputable sources. I tried to compile 3-5 verified facts or tidbits per question.
I wanted the composition to be very image heavy and include lots of overlapping elements. Keep in mind, not every statistic in these sketches were used, as I decided they were irrelevant.
Given the longstanding issue of the subject matter, I wanted a historical, timely feel to the piece. I took inspiration from older pieces and infographics that deal with historical topics.
I went with a bold display font for the headings with a large sans-serif font for the body. Staatliches reminded me of old propaganda posters, which felt fitting for what I was going for.
I'm not proud of my first iteration of this. Stylistically it is more disorganized, typographical hierarchy is inconsistent, and the fact that a "take action" section is not included makes the message weaker. However, I was able to defeat this problem by the second iteration.
